Seattle Reads is our city-wide book group. Connect with your friends, neighbors and community by reading the featured book, joining in a book discussion or attending programs with the featured writer.
Our 2025 Seattle Reads selection is “You Are Here: Poetry in the Natural World”, a poetry anthology edited by U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón.
"You Are Here" celebrates our deep connection with the natural world and the collective power of poetry. The anthology features 50 American poets observing and reflecting on their place in the natural world.
Founded in 1998, Seattle Reads is a city-wide book group, where people are encouraged to read and discuss the same book. Originally called “If All of Seattle Read the Same Book,” Seattle Reads was the first “One Book, One City” program. It proved so popular that that concept has spread across all 50 states and even internationally. These programs are designed to deepen engagement in literature through reading and discussion.
Since 1998, we have partnered with local independent book stores and other organizations to bring the city together to read one book.
