Background
The Seattle Public Library seeks to make library facilities comfortable and safe for its patrons, volunteers and staff members. In order to be good stewards and caretakers of publicly funded facilities, the Library directs patrons and staff members on how and where in the Library food and beverages may be consumed.
Statement
The Library strives to create a welcoming, clean and comfortable environment for the public. Consistent with this goal, the following rules specify how food and beverage may be consumed in public areas of Library facilities:
Applicability
This procedure applies to all food and beverage consumption occurring in public areas of Library facilities.
