A down-on-his-luck Dickens struggles with writer's block as pressure to write a Christmas book rises. As he walks his beloved London in search of inspiration, he finds it in a mysterious stranger who takes him on a journey that will inspire A Christmas Carol and re-invent Christmas. This novel is the basis for the play.
