The Library serves as a coalition partner with book groups for Native middle and high school students. These Native Youth Reading Groups celebrate Indigenous voices and connect young readers to stories that reflect their heritage.
Native Youth Reading Groups are open to all Native middle and high school students. Reading Groups may include virtual and in-person events and meetings.
Reading Groups are led by Native educators and district educators. The Library and the co-chairs of the coalition collaborate to choose the titles read during each Reading Group.
A selection of book lists from past groups are listed below.
Our current Native Youth Reading Groups are listed on our calendar. Each calendar entry includes information on meeting times, book selections and how to sign up.
If you have any questions about participating, please email our program partner United Indians of All Tribes Education Coalition (UIATEC) at uiatec@unitedindians.org.
