Veterans of Color Pathfinders

The Veterans of Color Pathfinders Program at El Centro de la Raza provides outreach, advocacy and service pathfinding to all veterans with an emphasis on assisting veterans of color and their families living in King County. Services are available to all persons (including their family members) who have served in the United States Armed Forces regardless of their discharge status. 

Pathfinders can connect veterans to: 

  • VA pension and disability compensation 
  • Military sexual trauma counseling 
  • Crisis and PTSD advocacy 
  • Vocational rehabilitation 
  • VA home loan resources 
  • LGBTQ+ benefits 
  • Mental health resources 
  • Survivors and dependents benefits 
  • Housing and rental assistance 
  • Employment and job readiness 

Pathfinders hold drop-in hours at the Ballard Branch.

Community Resources

The following are community resources that can assist veterans and their families living in King County. For additional help finding resources, connect with our Social Services on Level 5 at the Central Library or Ask Us.

King County Veterans Program

The King County Veterans Program (KCVP) can assist veterans and their families in finding and accessing resources. Anyone who has served at least one day in the military, regardless of discharge type, may be eligible. Certain family members of veterans and service members are also eligible. 

KCVP can help with: 

  • Emergency support, including food, clothing and hygiene items 
  • Employment assistance and guidance 
  • Shelter and housing resources 
  • Financial coaching and stability support
  • Medical, mental health and wellbeing services 
  • Case management
